April 29, 2024: May is Mental Health Awareness Month

Did You Know….?

•          More than 1 in 5 US adults live with a mental illness

•          The #1 most diagnosed mental disorders are anxiety disorders

•          In 2022, 81% of workers reported that workplace stress affects their mental health

•          Workers with fair or poor mental health are estimated to have nearly 12 days of unplanned absences annually compared with 2.5 days for all other workers.

Quick Tips on Mental Health

•          Unplug-turn off your phone, tablet and/or computer for an hour or so

•          Go for a walk and focus on your senses

•          Make a list of your strengths-there are plenty of things about you that are great, no matter how down you are feeling at the moment

•          Give “Box Breathing” a try-inhale for a count of 4, hold for a count of 4, then exhale for a count of 4. Repeat as needed.
