City of Rochester News Release - Sunday Markets to Feature Malcom X Marketplace at the International Plaza

(Thursday, May 16, 2024) – The Sunday Markets season continues with a birthday celebration for famed civil rights leader Malcom X from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 19, at the International Plaza, 828 N. Clinton Ave.

The Malcom X Marketplace at the International Plaza will feature about a dozen Black-owned businesses along with the usual array of vendors at the site. One such vendor is B+Healthy Fresh Food Market. This will mark the largest gathering of Black-owned retail businesses in Rochester this year.

Managed in collaboration with the Ibero American Development Corp., the International Plaza brings the world to Rochester with a variety of food, gifts, and entertainment from vendors and performers highlighting a wide assortment of global cuisine, culture and heritage. Each Sunday the Plaza will host markets with special features, attractions and presentations from community-based organizations offering information on vital resources and services that can help families thrive.

The International Plaza is also open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday until the 2024 season concludes on Oct. 13.

The International Plaza offers an ideal, affordable location for merchants seeking to engage directly with the public. Vendor spaces remain available with rates starting at just $20 per week.
