Background

With the recent reorganization of the Rochester Police Department, a section office was opened in Downtown (Central Section). Due to this opening, the Downtown Special Services contract was not renewed.

The non-renewal of this contract has eliminated the service that provided dissemination of information specific to Downtown. The Mayor and City Council feels there is value in providing this service for downtown business, residents and visitors. It should be noted that the other element of the Downtown Special Services was safety and security and that is adequately being.

Submissions

Proposals must be submitted by 5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on Feb. 24, 2016. The Review Committee will select the preferred proposal by March 24, 2016.
