City of Rochester

News Release

(Friday, Aug. 1, 2014) – Starting Tuesday, Aug. 5, the City Hall Link Gallery will feature a new exhibit by Image City Photography Gallery Partners. Pieces of creative photography will be on display from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday until Sept. 8. Admission is free and the gallery is wheelchair accessible.

Featured artists include the Image City Photography Gallery Partners Steve Levinson, Gil Maker, Don Menges, Dan Neuberger, Betsy Phillips, Gary Thompson, Phyllis Thompson, Sheridan Vincent, Carl Crumley and Dick Bennett as well as Artists-in-Residence Jim Patton and David Perlman.

The Image City Photography Gallery was founded in 2005 by former MCC professor Ed Vasneske. Although he was not a photographer himself, he felt that as an international center for imaging, Rochester should have a gallery showcasing the abundance of quality photography the city has to offer. Today, The Image City Photography Gallery, 722 University Ave., is made up of ten gallery partners and is a venue for both their work and the work of photographers from the area and around the world including artists from Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, New York, Paris, and Israel, and most recently a nationally known photographer, author and lecturer, David FitzSimmons.

The Link Gallery, located at City Hall, 30 Church St., is open Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and features visiting exhibits from the Rochester community.
