(Friday, Dec. 22, 2017) — Governor Andrew Cuomo unveiled
his Democracy Agenda yesterday to ensure transparency in the electoral process
and institute early voting and automatic same-day voter registration in New
York State.
“Governor Cuomo’s Democracy Agenda is the strongest plan
to reform our elections that I have seen in some time,” said Mayor Lovely A.
Warren. “The Governor’s proposal will make it easier for New Yorkers to vote,
while also strengthening protections for our elections from outside influence,
an issue that was of grave consequence in the 2016 election. Once again, under
Governor Cuomo’s leadership, New York is leading the nation in standing up for
progressive, common-sense policies that will have a generational impact on New
York State.”
