News Release - Players, Coaches Sought for Youth Basketball League

(Friday, Jan. 5, 2018) – The City’s Department of Recreation and Youth Services will conduct open registration for the Community-Wide Basketball League for Monroe County youth ages 6 to 12 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays, Jan. 6, 13, 20 and 27 at the Thomas P. Ryan R-Center, 530 Webster Ave. There is a $25 registration fee per player.

The league has three co-ed divisions: ages 6 and 7; 8 to 10; and 10 to 12 and is designed to help participants develop both basketball and life skills.

The season runs from March 3 through April 28 and games take place on Saturdays between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Ryan R-Center.

The League is also seeking coaches. The City will offer certification from the National Alliance for Youth Sports.
