(Tuesday, March 27, 2018) - Mayor Lovely A. Warren today thanked the PetSmart Charities® for awarding Rochester Animal Services a grant of $42,084 for targeted pet sterilization services.

“Rochester Animal Services is committed to supporting healthy choices for pet owners throughout our community,” said Mayor Warren. “This grant will help us facilitate spay and neuter surgeries for pet owners in Rochester’s most underserved neighborhoods. This project supports the City’s animal care and control efforts, which improve quality of life and help ensure safer more vibrant neighborhoods, more jobs and better educational opportunities in our city.”

“Rochester Animal Services has been a trusted partner of PetSmart Charities for over 15 years. Their hard work and dedication to helping pets in need is evident through their commitment to increasing access to pet resources within the Rochester community,” said Sima Thakkar, Regional Relationship Manager at PetSmart Charities.

The grant will be used to subsidize spay and neuter surgeries provided by a private clinic and the City’s Animal Services Center clinic.
