Ayriona Winston, Urban Fellow

Ayriona Winston

Ayriona Winston serves as an Undergraduate Urban Fellow in the Mayor’s Office of Constituent Services (OCS).

Ms. Winston began her service to the people of Rochester in the Mayor’s office when she was a sophomore in high school in the City of Rochester.

She was recently appointed as the new Program Director of one of Mayor Warren’s signature initiatives, Story Time with Style.   Storytime with Style is an initiative that encourages children to read while waiting with parents or caregivers in local beauty salons and barber shops.

Winston is responsible for replenishing books in those businesses, while working with the OCS Director to determine future placement of books and bookshelves provided by our community partners, in the City of Rochester.

She assisted the former Story Time with style program director in working with students at the Edison Career and Technology High School, to design and create additional book shelves for the program, allowing for the Story Time with Style program to continue its expansion in our City.

Winston is a recent graduate of Monroe Community College, where she obtained her Associates Degree in Business Administration. She will begin classes at the Rochester Institute of Technology, fall 2018, where she plans to obtain a degree in Public Policy.

Winston also is a member of the Mayor’s Office Young Professionals program, an initiative designed to help young professionals develop and reach higher levels, as well as work with other like-minded individuals to create advancement opportunities in the areas of education, employment, community, and social contacts. Winston is in charge of the community service sector providing ideas and shining light on volunteering opportunities available in the city of Rochester.

Ayriona is one of the youngest members of the OCS staff, but that doesn’t stand in the way of her desire to serve her community. In her words, age is only a number!
