(Friday, July 27, 2018) – Find a special bargain or hunt for a unique treasure at the Community Garage Sale at the City of Rochester Public Market on Sunday, August 5.

“The Greatest Community Garage Sales at the Public Market are terrific for finding bargains and treasures of every imaginable kind,” said Mayor Lovely A. Warren. “What’s more, these sales are a great way for neighborhood and community organizations to raise funds for their causes and programs, which helps us create safer, more vibrant neighborhoods, more jobs and better educational opportunities for our citizens.”

The Sunday Community Garage Sales, which run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., bring dozens of garage sale-type vendors together in one place, creating a huge variety of bargain collectibles and curiosities, as well as practical items such as clothing, tools, bicycles, sporting goods and much more. Future Community Garage Sales will take place on the following Sundays: Aug. 12, 19, 26; Sept. 9, 23, 30; Oct. 7 and 14.

Individuals and organizations interested in selling items at the Market can rent a 10-by-30-foot vending space for $30 per event. Commercial vendors are also welcome. Vendor information and applications may be picked up at the Market office or obtained at www.cityofrochester.gov/garagesales, or call 428-6907 from 7 a.m. to noon, Tuesday through Friday for more information.

In addition to the Sales, cafes and food stands on the grounds of the Market and in the Public Market District are open for business on these Sundays.
