News Release - A Thanksgiving Greeting from Mayor Lovely A. Warren

City of Rochester

News Release

(Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2018) – Thanksgiving marks the beginning of the holiday season and I can’t think of a better way to celebrate than to gather with family and friends to enjoy the company of those we love.

I am grateful to live in a city that is famous for its generosity - where neighbors look out for one another, especially those who are less fortunate. In just the last few weeks we have seen scores of organizations and individuals from across our community fulfilling the spirit of the holidays by helping others. Whether they are organizing food and clothing drives, raising money for charitable causes or just lending a hand to someone who needs it, Rochester is alive with the spirit of giving back. I hope all of our residents experience the joyful spirit of generosity this holiday season, whether it is from giving, receiving or both.

I also want to offer a special thank you for the services performed by the men and women who work in the armed services, public safety, health care and many other critical jobs who will not be able to spend the holiday with their families while performing these important functions.

On behalf of my colleagues at City Hall and my family, I wish everyone a happy and safe Thanksgiving.
