Project No. 19019

The City of Rochester, through its Architectural Services department, is soliciting proposals for mechanical and electrical investigation, design, bid and construction administration services for improvements to HVAC, mechanical, electrical and lighting systems for the Emergency Communication Department facility. The Emergency Communication Department (911) facility at 321 W. Main Street was built in 1994, and houses staff providing emergency response calls to the City of Rochester Police Department (RPD), Rochester Fire Department (RFD), eleven (11) surrounding area police departments, thirty-six (36) fire departments and the Monroe County Sherriff’s Department. This facility supports critical 24/7 activities that necessitate a proactive approach for maintenance, repair, and/or replacement of essential building systems such as the HVAC/mechanical and electrical systems.

The HVAC work includes replacement of one make-up air unit, five heat pumps, six Liebert units, building exhaust fans, six pumps and VFDs, heat exchanger and valve, and two unit heaters.

Johnson Building Automation controls shall be updated, including replacement of boiler pump safety switches and provision of an updated building controls scheme and sequence of operations.

Electrical work includes overhaul and updating of 480 kW natural gas generator, replacement of ballasts for fixtures in the primary operations area compatible with the existing dimming system, and removal of dimming from the atrium lighting.
