Board of Stationary Engineers

This six-member board is responsible for investigating and examining the knowledge and technical ability of each applicant for a license to engage in or perform the work of a stationary engineer or a refrigeration operator in the City of Rochester. The board can revoke, cancel or suspend licenses.

Members must be at least 25 years old, citizens of the U.S., hold a high school diploma or equivalent, live in Monroe County (preference is given to City residents), and include 5 members who hold valid licenses in at least the 1st or second 2nd highest classification, adequately representing the interests of refrigeration operation and stationary engineering. The sixth member is the City's Commissioner of Neighborhood and Business Development (or designee).
