News Release

Project IMPACT hits streets

(April 20, 2009) -- Police Chief David T. Moore is proud to announce that effective Tuesday April 21, 2009, Project IMPACT will be in full swing again in the Rochester area. Project IMPACT (Integrated Municipal Police Anti-Crime Teams) will continue to focus on reducing violent crime and drug crime in Rochester. Our partners from the New York State Police and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office will continue to join us in this effort along with other areas of the criminal justice system.

“We have been able to see great results from the implementation of Project Impact. We have realized significant reductions in many crime categories over the last year. Project Impact certainly serves as an example for other initiatives implemented in the RPD. I want to thank our partners in law enforcement that will be participating in this initiative for the fifth year. I look forward to another successful year of Project Impact.”

Chief David T. Moore

This phase of Project Impact will last two (2) weeks.
