News Release

(Friday, June 26, 2009) - Mayor Robert J. Duffy and Commissioner of Economic Development R. Carlos Carballada welcome engineering and architecture firm FRA, a T.Y. Lin International Company, to downtown Rochester.

FRA employs 70 people and moved from Henrietta to the Corporate Place Building, 255 East Ave. in April. The agency celebrated its grand opening earlier this month and Mayor Duffy and Commissioner Carballada visited the offices to deliver a certificate of congratulations.

“An increasing number of professional firms like FRA are recognizing the advantages of operating in the commercial hub of our nine-county region,” said Mayor Duffy. “With its growing sense of vibrancy and vitality, downtown Rochester is fast-becoming the envy of every mid-sized city in America, and it is the investments of firms like FRA that are helping us make that happen.”

FRA president Robert Radley said being in downtown is “the right thing to do.”

“Downtown Rochester is the ideal setting for a new office, allowing us to be closer to clients like the City of Rochester and Monroe County,” he said. “The firm is currently working on the Historic Erie Canal Aqueduct and Broad Street Corridor Master Plan on behalf of the City, as well as the County’s Civic Center Plaza & Parking Garage Rehabilitation project.”

FRA is a professional consulting firm that provides full-service engineering and architectural services to clients throughout the United States from 28 offices across the country.
