News Release - MVP Tuesday Nature Nights Continue through August 25

(July 21, 2009) - The popular Tuesday Nature Nights series of hikes, paddles and bike rides to help Rochesterians explore the city’s natural environment and history continue through August. All evening tours start and 6 p.m. and last for about 1 ½ hours.  The series is sponsored by MVP Healthcare as part of their ongoing efforts to encourage a healthy, active lifestyle.      

Upcoming events include:

• July 28-Guided outrigger canoe paddle. Meet at the Genesee WaterWays Center, 149 Elmwood Ave. $15 per person, pre-register by calling 428-6770 by July 27.

• August 4-Guided bike ride, south river loop neighborhood. Meet at the Genesee Valley Park Pool Parking Lot. Ride along the Genesee RiverWay to Corn Hill and back past the historic U of R Campus.

• August 11- Guided outrigger paddle (see July 28).

• August 18- Guided bike ride. Meet at Genesee Valley Park Pool Parking Lot, explore the oldest municipally-owned and operated cemetery. A slow leisurely ride in cooperation with the Friends of Mt. Hope. See the Graves of Susan B. Anthony, Frederick Douglass and more.

• August 25- Guided bike ride. Meet at the Genesee Valley Pool Parking Lot. Ride the Genesee RiverWay to Corn Hill and explore its collection of stately, historic homes. Enjoy an ice cream at Corn Hill Landing.
