News Release - Public Meeting Set For Festival Site Study

(July 29, 2009) - Members of the City’s Dept. of Neighborhood and Business Development will conduct a public meeting to discuss utilizing Brown Square Park as a downtown festival site. The City is considering the development of enhancements to the park and has retained the services of Norris Design, a planning and landscape architecture consulting firm to prepare a feasibility study.

Residents, partner agency/organization representatives, business community representatives, users of special event facilities and services and all members of the public are invited to attend the meeting and provide their input for the study. The objective of the meeting is to assess the need for, and functionality of an enhanced festival site at Brown Square Park; identify the special event needs of the community; and discuss issues that should be addressed through the study.
