(Friday, Oct. 30, 2009 ) - The Rochester Fire Department would like to remind everyone that Nov. 1 is a good time is "Change your clocks, Check your batteries, and practice your Home Exit Drills" time.

Daylight Savings Time will begin on Sunday, Nov. 1 at 2 a.m. The Fire Department uses the "Change of Clock" time to remind everyone to practice fire safety in their homes: check the batteries of smoke detectors and make sure everyone in your family knows what to do in the event of a fire, including the best exit plan.

All fire stations are open for assistance with Exit drill plans and to assist anyone that made have trouble checking their smoke detector. We encourage the Media as well as the citizens of Rochester to stop by your fire houses and ascertain useful information on smoke detectors and exit drills in the home.
