(Thursday, November 12, 2009) – Openings remain for students between the ages of 6-13 for “After School in the Park” at the Lake Riley Lodge in Cobbs Hill Park, Culver Road and Norris Drive.

The unique, new program offers affordable, high quality after school care by the Department of Recreation and Youth Services for a special introductory rate of $55 per week. Additional siblings are $45 per week.

Homework help is available and social and recreational opportunities abound: LEGO robotics; crafts; Internet access; Double Dutch; arcade competitions; cooking classes; entrepreneurship education; board games; digital photography; movie making; field trips and more. Participants will be served a snack and a hot dinner, sponsored by Foodlink.

After School in the Park operates from school dismissal until 6:30 p.m. throughout the school year. Rochester City School District students can be transported to the Lake Riley Lodge via district transportation at the end of the school day. Parents can request the alternative drop-off location through the main office of the child’s school.
