The 2011 special Veteran's Day concert featured the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra and special guests under the direction of guest conductor Paul Shewan. The third-annual RPO Honoring Our Heroes Concert was a great success, paying tribute to Rochester's military veterans and providing area residents an opportunity to enjoy patriotic-themed music. The concert is held in Kodak Hall at the Eastman Theatre.
Guests also heard a performance by the Roberts Wesleyan College Chorale under the direction of Jamie Spillane.
Audiences can expect to hear patriotic classics such as the Star Spangled Banner, God Bless America and Stars and Stripes Forever. The 2011 concert also featured a piece from the movie Saving Private Ryan.
To help area families afford this memorable concert, general admission ticket prices are pay-what-you-can with a minimum suggested price of $5. Veterans may collect up to two FREE tickets to the show in honor of their service to the United States. Tickets are available at the Eastman Theatre Box Office, 433 E. Main St.(Eastman East Wing), or by phone at 585-454-2100. FREE parking is also available for the show inside the East End Garage.
