(Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011) – The Bureau of Recreation is now registering city youth ages 9 to 15 for its NFL Flag Football League. Several recreation centers will field teams. There are teams for ages 9-12 and teams for ages 13-15. Not every recreation center will have a team for both age groups. League play will begin the week of Sept. 12.
Each team chooses an NFL team and will receive NFL jerseys once the roster is completely registered.
To register, interested youth should contact their neighborhood recreation center (or the center they wish to play for) to learn if that center is fielding teams for the league. If the center will have an NFL Flag Football team, connect with the coach for more information and to register. A complete listing of Recreation Centers and their addresses and phone numbers can be found at www.cityofrochester.gov/recreationcenters.
