News Release - 311 to Handle Parking Violation Bureau Calls

City of Rochester

News Release

(Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012) – Mayor Thomas S. Richards today announced that customers seeking information about parking tickets, red light camera violations and related billing concerns can call “311” (428-5990 outside city limits) to get their questions answered. The City’s Parking Bureau receives a high volume of calls and to improve customer service, people may now resolve most of their parking-related issues on the spot via the “One Call to City Hall” 311 Call Center.

Customers will benefit from the extended hours of the 311 Call Center, which is staffed with customer service representatives from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. Calls to the Parking Violations Bureau’s phone numbers will now be diverted to the 311 Call Center.

Requests for hearings, municipal code violations information and more complicated cases will continue to be handed by the Parking Violations Bureau staff via the 311 Call Center.

Payments for tickets can be made online (www.cityofrochester.gov/payments); and by mail or in person: Parking Violations Bureau, City of Rochester, 42 South Ave., Rochester, NY 14604-1794.

Customers whose vehicles have been booted are reminded to call PayLock at 1-877-208-5421 to arrange payment and have the boot removed.

The City’s Parking Violations Bureau receives an estimated 100 phone calls and serves anywhere from 50 to 100 walk-in customers per day. In addition to parking and red light camera violations, the Parking Violations Bureau also handles municipal code violations including housing, dog and nuisance complaints.
