Residents also urged to observe all parking regulations (including alternate side parking signs).

(Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012) - City crews have been working around the clock this weekend in an effort to clear streets of snow and snowbound cars are hampering the snow removal efforts. Motorists are advised to dig out and move snowbound vehicles from city streets and to strictly observe alternate, side and other posted parking regulations to facilitate snow and clean up efforts following the recent, sustained period of snowfall.

If snowbound vehicles are not moved, owners will risk having them ticketed, towed and impounded. City Code requires that vehicles parked at curbside be moved at least every 12 hours.

Residents who have moved their snowbound vehicles are urged to call 311 (428-5990 outside city limits), so that crews can be dispatched to clear accumulated snow that has been left behind.

Plowing contractors are reminded that it is illegal to push snow from private property into public sidewalks and streets, creating hazards for motorists and pedestrians.
