Description: | Ike's Bluff: President
Eisenhower's Secret Battle to Save the World by Evan Thomas Reviewer: Glenn Kist,
Dean Emeritus of the College of Liberal Arts, Rochester Institute of
Technology
Journalist and author Evan Thomas proposes that behind
Eisenhower's bland smile and apparent simple-mindedness was a brilliant
tactitian. Thomas uses Eisenhower's skill at poker to show the reader how
Eisenhower faced down the Soviet Union, China, and his own generals (some of
whom believed a first strike was the only means of survival), and saved the
world.
