City of Rochester

News Release

(Monday, May 20, 2013) — Commissioner R. Carlos Carballada and Councilmember Elaine Spaull today celebrated the ribbon cutting of trü salon located at 603 Park Ave. with owners Julie Judge, Kevin Judge and Rachel McCooey.

“The owners of trü salon have picked a great city location,” said Commissioner Carballada, “They know that the Park Avenue Neighborhood is filled with young professionals who will appreciate their upbeat and talented stylists.”

This is the second location for trü salon established by owners Julie and Kevin Judge. For this new location they have added a third partner, Rachel McCooey, who is a former stylist and manager of their Schoen Place location in Pittsford.

Trü Salon’s business was increasing and they needed to expand to accommodate a growing staff and client base. They have hired five additional stylists and hope to add an additional five over the next few years. Julie Judge says, “We are excited to be new business owners in the city of Rochester and look forward to growing our connection with the Park Avenue community.”

A city of Rochester location was the owners’ primary focus for a second salon, and specifically the Park Avenue area, which is known for its diversity and its unique and eclectic mix of retail, restaurants and the arts. Their establishment fits well with the Park Avenue and the Avenue of the Arts area, as their stylists believe that beauty enhancement relies on artistic vision.

The new 1,200 square foot trü salon space is luxurious and a wonderful place to relax and enjoy a personalized experience. Value added extras include scalp and shoulder massage before a haircut or a hand massage before a color.

Hours of operation are: Tuesday through Friday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
