(Friday, Sept. 20, 2013) – The City’s Bureau of Recreation is seeking kids ages 6 to 9 years-old to take part in a local qualifier for the “Punt, Pass, & Kick” program, to be held at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 25 at East High School, 1801 E. Main St.
The Punt, Pass & Kick program, now in its 52nd year, is a nation-wide competition for boys and girls sponsored by the National Football League that allows kids to experience the fun of learning football fundamentals in an engaging and supportive non-contact environment.
Interested participants may pre-register at any City Recreation or Community Center. Visit www.cityofrochester.gov/recreationcenters for a list of locations. Walk-up registration will be available at 5 p.m. on the day of the event.
Youth will be grouped in the following five age categories:
• Ages 6 to 7 (born in 2006 and 2007)
• Ages 8 to 9 (born in 2004 and 2005)
• Ages 10 to 11 (born in 2002 and 2003)
• Ages 12 to 13 (born in 2000 and 2001)
• Ages 14 to 15 (born in 1998 and 1999)
Qualifying athletes in each of the age divisions will advance to the regional event, which will be held on Saturday, Oct. 19 at East High School.
