The David F. Gantt Community Center will host a day-long series of youth events to celebrate and consider the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

1 to 3 p.m.: Essay Contest - In 100 words or less explain Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his vision. (For ages 12 and under)

3 to 5 p.m.Teen Council Discussion - Teens will address the topic of race relations in the 21st century by specifically addressing the question: Have things gotten beter for African Americans since the assassination of Dr. King? What can we do to improve race relations. (For ages 13 to 18)
