Dr. Zhi Tang is Special Assistant to the Commissioner of Neighborhood and Business Development Department. Dr. Tang focuses on developing the global outreach strategies for the City of Rochester which includes foreign investment, international trade, and international tourism. Dr. Tang is an Associate Professor in Management at Saunders College of Business in Rochester Institute of Technology. Dr. Tang holds a Ph.D. degree in Management and a Ph.D. minor in Management Information System from the University of Alabama, as well as a master degree in Finance from the Fudan University and a bachelor degree in International Economics from the Shandong University.

Dr. Tang has rich knowledge of international business, especially of emerging economies and Far Eastern Asian economies. Dr. Tang is strongly associated with an extensive network of entrepreneurs in the Asian area with many years of cooperative relationship. Dr. Tang also travels around the world for international business and entrepreneurship related projects and research. His work in these areas have appeared in top management and entrepreneurship journals (e.g., Journal of Management, Journal of Business Venturing, and Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice) or have been presented in top management and entrepreneurship conferences (e.g., Academy of Management Conference, and the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship). Owing to his outstanding achievements, Dr. Tang was recognized as the Zutes Faculty Fellow at RIT. Dr. Tang has taught in both University of Alabama and Rochester Institute of Technology with the focus on International Business and Entrepreneurship.
