News Release - Downtown Noontime Concert Series Begins Tomorrow

(Tuesday, July 8, 2014) – Mayor Lovely A. Warren announced that the Noontime Concert Series kicks off tomorrow with cover rock band Me & the Boyz in Downtown’s Aqueduct Park, next to the Main Street Bridge. The concerts will continue for the following four Wednesdays through August 6.

“We are committed to creating vitality Downtown and that includes entertainment for our Downtown residents, workers and visitors,” said Mayor Warren. “The Noontime Concert Series is a fun event that I hope more people enjoy.”

The remaining Noontime Concerts include:

• July 16: Jimmie Highsmith Band (jazz);

• July 23: Seabreezers (60s surf rock);

• July 30: Grand Canyon Rescue Episode (Americana); and

• August 6: En Clave (salsa).

Attendees are encouraged to bring a lunch and a lawn chair and enjoy the free concerts in this pocket park on the corner of Main and Graves Streets. The concerts will take place rain or shine with no alternate rain dates or locations.

The Noontime Concert Series is produced by the City of Rochester and is sponsored by Thomson Reuters.
