City Recreation and Community Centers to Kick-off Fall Programming with Informational Open Houses

(Friday, August 22, 2014) – The City of Rochester Department of Recreation and Youth Services is inviting the public to visit neighborhood recreation and community centers during a fall open house tomorrow, Saturday, August 23. From noon to 4 p.m., youth and their families can take a tour of the facilities, meet the staff and get information on after school offerings and other recreation programs.

“It is important that healthy activities and meaningful learning doesn’t end when school lets out,” said Mayor Lovely Warren. “The City’s Department of Recreation and Youth Services offers a variety of programs that engage our youth in sports, art, literacy and other positive activities after school and I hope that families will take the opportunity to explore the exciting opportunities that await youth at all of our sites during our open house hours.”

The following sites will participate in the open house:
• Adams Street Community Center and Pool, 85 Adams St., 428-7266
• Avenue D Community Center, 200 Avenue D, 428-7934
