News Release - City Spray Parks to Remain Open to Provide Relief from Heat

(Wednesday, September 3, 2014) – City spray parks and spray features at various locations will remain open Thursday, Sept. 4 and Friday, Sept. 5 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., to provide relief from temperatures which are expected to top 90 degrees. (Spray parks and spray features normally close for the season after Labor Day and the Cool Sweep program ended on August 31).

Spray parks locations:

• Carter Street Community Center, 500 Carter St.;

• Edgerton Community Center, 41 Backus St.;

• Humboldt Community Center, 1045 Atlantic Ave.;

• David F. Gantt Community Center, 700 North St.;

• Thomas P. Ryan Community Center, 530 Webster Ave.;

Spray feature locations:

• Fourth and Peck Playground, corner of Fourth and Peck Streets;

• Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park, 25 Manhattan Square Dr.;

• Troup Street Park, Troup and Van Auker Streets.
