City Celebrates 50th Anniversary of Fab-Weld Corporation

(Friday, September 19, 2014) –
City Neighborhood and Business Development Commissioner Delmonize “Del” Smith, joined owner Roger Contant today for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Fab-Weld Corporation, located at 280 Dewey Ave.

“One of the great pleasures of being the City’s Business Development Commissioner is having the opportunity to meet City business owners like Roger,” said Commissioner Smith. “On behalf of Mayor Lovely Warren, I would like to extend our appreciation to Mr. Contant for operating his business in our city. We wish Fab-Weld Corporation continued success.”

“We want to thank the City of Rochester for providing us the opportunity to expand on this location with permits and help needed to do this,” said Mr. Contant. “We are very happy to have been able serve the Rochester community in this area for 50-plus years. During all our years in business, we have strived to buy and subcontract to local companies. We look forward to continuing our relationship with the city. Thank you, to our loyal customers from the city and outskirts.”

Fab-Weld Corporation opened for business in July 1964, located first on Oak Street, then moved to the corner of Jay and Glide Street and finally at its current location on Dewey Avenue. Mr. Content created Fab-Weld Corporation with an emphasis on customer service with integrity. He has passed this philosophy to his son, Denis, who works with his father. Together, they have 94 years of experience between them.
