(Thursday, June 25, 2015) – The results are in and The Fast & The Furriest® presented by Buckingham Properties was a huge success.
“The collective efforts of volunteers, sponsors, fundraisers and donors and the Verona Street Animal Society helped us raise essential funding and bring attention to the important work being accomplished by Rochester Animal Services,” said Mayor Lovely A. Warren. “I want to thank everyone involved for making this event so successful. You are helping us improve Rochester by creating more jobs, safer, more vibrant neighborhoods and increased educational opportunities.”
The City of Rochester Animal Services and the Verona Street Animal Society (VSAS) held their ninth-annual benefit on Saturday, June 6 at 184 Verona St. and Brown Square Park.
The event included 10K and 5K road races, a dog-walk and other pet-themed activities.
Event Results:
• Over 530 registered runners;
• Nearly 200 registered dog walkers;
• Fundraising reached a record high, grossing nearly $80,000;
• 171 pets vaccinated for rabies;
• 72 pets implanted with microchips;
• 19 pets adopted (14 cats, 5 dogs) on event day;
• Numerous other pets adopted as result of event during days that followed;
