News Release

(Tuesday, July 21, 2015) – Gospel music talents from across the community will perform at the City of Rochester Public Market (280 N. Union St.) from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 26 as part of the Market’s popular summer special events series. Elim Sanctuary Choir, the primary organizer of the event in partnership with the City of Rochester, will headline the show. Other featured performers include Lotan Floyd; Lashanda McCadney; and Blair Monique Walker.

“Rochester is extraordinarily rich in musical talent,” said Mayor Lovely Warren. “The City of Rochester Public Market is a fantastic public stage to showcase powerful, inspirational performances such as those featured in Gospel Jubilee. We are proud to host cultural events like this as part of our efforts to create safer, more vibrant neighborhoods, more jobs and better educational opportunities for our children.”

“We are thrilled to once again bring Gospel Jubilee to the community as part of the City of Rochester Public Market’s signature summer special events series,” said Jasen Monroe of Elim Sanctuary Choir. “It’s fitting that gospel music, a cultural gem in our community, will be performed at the Public Market, a place so key to the culture of Rochester.”

Admission to the event is free. Food and drink vendors will be on site. Attendees are encouraged to bring folding chairs, as seating is limited on site.
