City of Rochester

News Release

(Thursday, July 23, 2015) – City Neighborhood and Business Development Deputy Commissioner Kate Washington joined business owner Marcia Muller for a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10 a.m.
Renewal Property Maintenance Services provides landscape and construction services such as lawn mowing, spring and fall clean-ups, garden design and installation, apartment rehabilitation, and basic manual labor.
Located at 460 Buffalo Road, Suite 70, Renewal Property Maintenance Services first opened on April 1, 2015 as a double-bottom line company. The business promises to provide excellent customer service and quality work while maintaining a minimum of 2/3 of the workforce consisting of people who are formerly incarcerated individuals.

Marcia Muller, the business owner, owned a landscape company for 20 years before entering the non-profit world in 2005. She started a transitional jobs program at the Rochester Landscape Technicians Program in 2009. Marcia created a social enterprise for this program to provide work for its participants. Although the program closed in 2012 following a merger the year before, Marcia continued the work by forming Renewal Property Maintenance Services, a for-profit business that provides work slots for previously incarcerated people. Marcia Muller wants to give people who have paid their dues a way to move forward with their lives in a positive way.

Business hours are Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
