(Monday, Nov. 30, 2015) – City Neighborhood and Business Development Commissioner Bayé M. Muhammad, New York State Senator Joseph E. Robach and City Councilmember Elaine Spaull joined business owner Richard Van Gee for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of Kirkpatrick’s Irish Pub located at 37 Charlotte St. in the City’s East End neighborhood.

“Entrepreneurs like Richard Van Gee reinforce our commitment to the transformation of this area and are important partners in making the City’s vision a reality,” said Mayor Lovely A. Warren. “Locally owned establishments enhance the vitality of our city, which in turn helps us create more jobs, safer streets and better educational opportunities for our children. I am confident that Mr. Van Gee will enjoy success in the East End and that Kirkpatrick’s will quickly become a neighborhood favorite.”

“Kirkpatrick’s is a charming new Irish-themed sports bar that features a relaxed, friendly environment where guests will feel comfortable whether alone or with a group of friends,” said Mr. Van Gee. “Menu items include jumbo wings, beers and wines from Rochester’s local breweries and wineries and much more. We pride ourselves on utilizing products bought from local distributors.”

During football season, patrons can catch many of the games on one of 13 television sets. Mr. Van Gee invested nearly $70,000 in the opening of Kirkpatrick’s Irish Pub and created seven jobs, with plans to add another 10 over the next three years.

Kirkpatrick’s is open Monday through Saturday from 3 p.m. to 2 a.m. and on Sundays from 1 p.m. to 2 a.m.
