The Holiday Season is once again upon us and has always been a very special time here in Rochester. Whether it’s lighting the Liberty Pole, skating in Martin Luther King, Jr. Park, celebrating the first night of Hanukkah at Washington Square Park, or any number of other holiday traditions, there are so many things to do and ways to spend time with family and friends.
And, ultimately, that is what makes the Holidays so special – time spent with family and friends.
As you build more holiday memories this year, I ask you to please remember those less fortunate in our community. I ask that we also remember those who serve in public safety, health care and other important professions who will be away from their families as they look after ours.
I continue to be steadfast in my goals of creating more jobs, safe and vibrant neighborhoods and better opportunities in every corner of this city at this time and all the year through.
As I look forward to a peaceful and joyous Christmas with my family and friends, I wish great peace and joy to you and your loved ones however you celebrate the holiday season.
Lovely A. Warren
Mayor, City of Rochester
