City of Rochester News Release - Community Garage Sales Season Begins at the City of Rochester Public Market this Sunday

(Wednesday, April 19, 2017) – The 2017 series of The Greatest Community Garage Sales and Super Fleas at the City of Rochester Public Market, 280 N. Union St., will launch on Sunday, April 23.

“The Greatest Community Garage Sales at the Public Market are not only a feast for bargain hunters, they are a way to reuse and recycle all kinds of items,” said Mayor Lovely A. Warren. “What's more, these sales are a great way for neighborhood and community organizations to raise funds for their causes and programs which helps us create safer, more vibrant neighborhoods, more jobs and better educational opportunities for our citizens.”

The Sunday Community Garage Sales, which run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., bring dozens of garage sale-type vendors together in one place, creating a huge variety of bargain collectibles and curiosities, as well as practical items such as clothing, tools, bicycles, sporting goods and much more.

Future Community Garage Sales will take place on the following Sundays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.: April 30, June 11, June 18, June 25, July 2, July 9, July 16, July 23, July 30, August 6, August 13, August 20, August 27, September 10, September 24, October 1, October 8, October 15.

Individuals and organizations interested in selling items at the Market can rent 10 by 30-foot vending spaces for $30 per space per event. Commercial vendors are also welcome. Vendor information and applications can be obtained at www.cityofrochester.gov/garagesales or by calling the Market at (585) 428-6907 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday through Friday.

In addition to the sales, cafes and food stands in the Public Market District are open for business on these Sundays.
