Statement from Mayor Lovely Warren on Tonight’s Expected Budget Vote

(Tuesday, June 20, 2017) -- “Tonight, City Council is expected to vote on my administration’s Fiscal Year 2017-2018 budget.

“This is a budget that puts city taxpayers first by cutting homeowners’ taxes for the second year in a row and giving relief to employers by providing the second lowest business tax rate in almost 20 years (last year was the lowest).

“Over the past two years this administration’s budgets have added police and maintained services for Rochester residents and our strong fiscal management has resulted in not one but two bond rating upgrades for the City of Rochester.

“Our city continues to see an unprecedented level of job-creating growth, development and investment along the Inner Loop, in our neighborhoods like Hudson Avenue and JOSANA, as well as throughout Downtown -- all occurring over the past three and a half years.

“I am proud of my record of cutting taxes for Rochester residents, maintaining services and investing in programs that will continue my successful fight to create more jobs, safer neighborhoods and better educational opportunities for all of our neighbors.”
