Watch a Mandala painting as it is created by sand artist Katie Jo Suddaby in Rundel's Harold Hacker Hall. Sand Mandalas have been created by Tibetan monks for thousands of years to teach impermanence. When the sand painting is complete, it is brushed away and returned to nature. 

Rochester, NY artist Katie Jo Suddaby will be creating an original work to honor Rochester Suffragettes in collaboration with the Susan B. Anthony House.  

About the artist: Katie Jo Suddaby holds a BA in Religion and Philosophy and a Master of Divinity from Colgate Rochester Crozier Divinity School. She is an ordained pastor through the American Baptist Churches, USA. Though mostly self-taught, she has received artistic training in Kathmandu and Pokhera, Nepal as well as from monks in Rochester, NY. She teaches sand painting classes and speaks nationally on the history and spirituality of Tibetan/ Nepali Mandala Art.  See and read more about Katie Jo at www.sandbykatiejo.com
