Students at HBCU College Fair

One of the goals of the HBCU College Fair is to increase awareness about collegiate opportunities among city youth with a special focus placed on HBCUs. The conference is open to the public and city youth are encouraged to attend; each year attendance has continued to grow with over 1,200 youth attending the event last year.

This college fair provides students the opportunity to interact with colleges and universities from around the country, some of which will have on-site admittance and scholarships available for students who attend the event. In 2016, 246 students were admitted to colleges at the college fair and over $1.1 million was awarded in scholarships.

The City of Rochester is joined by the United Negro College Fund, the Rochester City School District and HBCUs from around the country for this annual event.
