News Release - Statement from Mayor Lovely A. Warren Regarding Over 6,400 Residents Signed Up on First Day for St. Paul Street Mass Vaccination Site

City of Rochester

News Release

(Thursday, Feb. 25, 2021) – I’m thrilled that over 6,400 residents were able to register on Day 1 to receive this life-saving vaccine at the upcoming St. Paul Street vaccination site. I’m grateful to our City employees who staffed our 311 Call Center and the registration stations at our R-Centers and Libraries to make this possible. Our partnership with our Community Based Organizations to reach the residents in our underserved neighborhoods shows that we can make progress towards equity when we work together.

Now, we need to continue this momentum and fill the remaining spots at the site. Beyond that, we ask our partners at both the State and local levels to continue to dedicate sufficient vaccine supplies to serve our Black, Brown and poorer residents who have suffered disproportionally from this pandemic. When we do that, we can instill hope for an end to this horrible disease.
