(Thursday, Dec. 8, 2022) – The City of Rochester Public Market’s Holiday Cookie Contest will take place at 12 noon, December 11 at the Market Office, 280 N. Union St., after being on a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic. Contestants may drop off a half-dozen of their best holiday cookies, with a list of ingredients, to the Market Office between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 10 or between 8 a.m.- 11 a.m. on Sunday, December 11.

Judges will award first, second, and third place winners with market gift token prizes awarded to the top contestants ($150 for first, $75 for second and $55 for third place). Department of Recreation and Human Services Commissioner Dr. Shirley Green, local food and wine critics, food bloggers, and local bakers are some of the judges who will rank the cookies on four categories: taste, texture, originality, and presentation.
Market gift tokens may be redeemed at any food and/or beverage vendor during regular Market days, (between 6 a.m. and 1 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturdays). Limit one cookie submission per person.
