The City of Rochester Bureau of Recreation encourages all city youth and adults to become skilled swimmers and seize the opportunity to enjoy the water.

Through its Swim Academy, the City of Rochester Bureau of Recreation offers free youth swim lessons throughout the year. Adult lessons are offered as well, as is Lifeguarding Training each spring (call 428-7888 or 428-7456 for more information).   

Programs & Offerings:

Swim Team Rapids:  
 Rochester Rapids Swim Team is committed to developing a culture of life-long involvement in swimming by providing youth in and around the City of Rochester the finest opportunities for competition and community involvement through the sport of swimming.  

 Summer Swim Academy: 
 Swim Academy offers Free  swim lessons at six different skill levels for youth 6-17 and low-priced lessons for adults. 

 Adult Swim Lessons:
For more information about adult lessons that begin on Wednesday Nights at 5:30 p.m. at both Adams St. and Trenton & Pamela Jackson R-Center pools, call Adams Pool at 428-7456 and Trenton & Pamela Jackson Pool at 428-6908 or register at the top of this page on the new R-Center on-line .  Cost is $24 for the six week session.
