Mayor Warren and the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra Invite the Community to Free “Around the Town” Neighborhood Ensemble Concert Tuesday

(Monday, July 24, 2017) – Mayor Lovely A. Warren and the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) invite residents to the third “Around the Town” Neighborhood Ensemble Concert on Tuesday, July 25 at Barrington Park, aka “Park Avenue Green,” on the corner of Barrington Street and Park Avenue. This free event is produced in partnership with the Park Avenue Neighborhood Association and coincides with the neighborhood’s annual Cops and Dogs program (hot dog cookout with the Rochester Police Department). The event kicks off at 5 p.m., followed by the RPO Brass Quintet at 6:30 p.m. In case of rain, the event will be held at Immanuel Baptist Church, Park Avenue and Brunswick Street.

Now in its third year, the Around the Town Neighborhood Ensemble Concerts continue to bring the RPO into Rochester’s neighborhoods and give the community an opportunity to experience and enjoy classical music. Performances feature various ensembles comprised of RPO musicians and do not feature the entire RPO.

The final Around the Town Neighborhood Ensemble Concert will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 1 and features the RPO Marimba Band at the Maplewood Rose Garden.

All performances are free of charge and tickets are not required. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket.
