Accreditation, Awards and Recognition

The excellence of the City's performance and the contributions of our citizens and partners is acknowledged through awards, accreditation and other forms of recognition.

Accreditation is a process in which certification of competency, authority or credibility is presented by accrediting agencies that review such factors as best practices and customer satisfaction.

The City receives and bestows many awards both internally and externally. For instance, City departments honor employees for distinguished service; and employees are often honored by community organizations and national trade organizations. The federal government recognizes departments within municipalities for meeting national standard and our mayor has honored many citizens and organizations for their service to the community.
