Now Showing: HerStory

Artist Reception: 5:30 p.m. on Friday, March 28

"Women’s stories are as powerful, inspiring, and terrifying as the goddess herself. And in fact, these are the stories of the goddess. As women, we know her because we are her. Each woman, no matter how powerless she might feel, is a cell within her vast form, an embodiment of her essence, and each woman's story is a chapter in the biography of the sacred feminine." —Jalaja Boeheim, Aphrodite’s Daughters

Women’s history is not just written in books - it’s painted on canvases, captured in photographs, woven into poetry, and etched into the hearts of generations.

This collection reflects the depth and diversity of womanhood — its joys, struggles, triumphs, and transformations. A space where personal narratives meet collective history, where every brushstroke, every word, every captured moment echoes the voices of those who came before us and inspires those who will follow. Through these works, we honor the women who have shaped us, the emotions that define us, and the legacies that empower us.

Featured Artists: Lydia Boddie-Rice, Paola Macas Betchart, Elizabeth Rossi, Dr. Linda Shanti McCabe, Lia Burt, Andres Warren, Paris Morris, Haley Indorato, Onis Visuals, Carlet Cleare, J3ANNIE

Celebrating Rochester's Art at the City Hall Link Gallery

Established in 1981 by the New City Hall Citizens Committee, the City Hall Link Gallery provides a free, dynamic exhibition space for artists and craftspeople from the greater Rochester area. Featuring works from painters, printmakers, photographers, papermakers, and weavers, the gallery encourages local artists and groups from non-profits, institutions, and schools to showcase their creativity, bringing together the vibrant art and culture of our region.

With the understanding that Rochester is a city of and for the arts, the City of Rochester cherishes the visual arts, recognizing them as vital to our community’s education and culture.

The Link Gallery located on the first floor of City Hall at 30 Church St., is open to the public Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free, and the gallery is handicapped accessible.
