Description:

The City Council holds public hearings as required for specific legislative items on the agenda, as well as a monthly Speak to Council session.  These meetings are open to the public in order to allow an opportunity for constituents to voice their opinions, ideas, concerns or support for either legislation that the Council will be voting on that month, or any other issues that may be affecting the community.

Public Hearings and Speak to Council sessions take place in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 30 Church Street, Room 302-A, generally on the 3rd Thursday of the month, beginning at 6:00 p.m.

For the month of December, public hearings will be held for the following pieces of legislation:

Introductory No. 411 – Amending the Official Map in relation to the abandonment and renaming of portions of Balfour Drive

Introductory No. 414 – Authorizing an amendatory agreement and the alteration of pavement widths for the 2024 Preventive Maintenance Project

Introductory No. 437 – Authorizing a long-term lease of a portion of 835-855 West Main Street to ESL Federal Credit Union

Introductory No. URA-5 Designating the ESL Federal Credit Union as qualified and eligible to lease the underlying land and to establish, operate and maintain a retail bank branch on a portion of 835-855 West Main Street

Any person wishing to speak on any of these matters may do so during the public hearing.  Advance sign-up to speak at public hearings is not required.

Copies of these introductory items can be found in the City Council Proposed Legislation on the City’s website at: https://www.cityofrochester.gov/councilproceedings/.

The Speak to Council session will begin immediately following the conclusion of the public hearings.

Advance sign up is required for citizens who wish to address the Council during the Speak to Council session.  All persons desiring to speak must signup no later than 4:30 p.m. on the day of the Speak to Council session.
