Notice of Organization Meeting
Council of the City of Rochester
CITY COUNCIL
SWEARING-IN CEREMONY AND ORGANIZATION MEETING
Pursuant
to Sections 5-5, 5-6 and 5-7 of the City Charter, the Rochester City Council
will hold its biennial Swearing-In Ceremony and Organization Meeting at 3:30 p.m.
on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, in the City Council Chambers at City Hall. The Ceremony and Meeting are open to the
public. A reception will be held in the
City Hall Atrium following the meeting.
The
District representatives elected this past November will formally take the Oath
of Office to begin serving their four-year terms. Michael A. Patterson
(Northeast District), LaShay D. Harris (South District), Mary Lupien (East
District), and Bridget Monroe (Northwest District) will each be sworn-in during
a brief ceremony.
Following
the Swearing-in Ceremony, the Council’s Organization Meeting will commence. The
agenda for this meeting is as follows:
Appointment of the Council President
Appointment of the Council Vice
President
Appointment of the City Clerk
Adoption of the Rules of Council
Designation of
Official Newspapers
The agenda for
the Organization Meeting will be available online on the City’s website at cityofrochester.gov/councilproceedings/.
The meeting will
also be livestreamed on the City’s YouTube channel at youtube.com/@RochesterCityCouncil,as well as broadcast live on City 12, the City’s government access
channel, available on Spectrum Channel 1303.
