Rochester After School Academy (RASA)

A program of the Bureau of Youth Services, the Rochester After School Academy (RASA) provides academic enrichment, recreational, social, artistic and character development activities for students and their families to help them succeed.  By delivering these engaging enrichment activities in after school settings, RASA helps students stay connected to school, increase their school attendance and help them improve academic and life success. RASA is supported in part by a federal 21st Century Community Learning Centers grant, provided through the New York State Department of Education.  The grant is scheduled to run from September 2013 through June 2016.

The Rochester After School Academy operates at Dr. Charles T. Lunsford School #19, 465 Seward Street, serving fifty students in grades 6, 7, and 8, and their parents.

RASA Priorities:

• Youth Development
• Literacy
• Health & Nutrition
• Parent & Family Services
