News Release - Mayor Warren and the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra Announce Additional “Around the Town” Concerts in Rochester

City of Rochester

News Release

(Monday, June 29, 2015) – Mayor Lovely A. Warren and the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) will continue to bring the RPO out of the concert hall and into the community through the Around the Town concert series, returning on Tuesday, June 30 to Mt. Hope Cemetery, 1133 Mt. Hope Ave.

These free, family-friendly concerts given by RPO ensembles provide the community with an opportunity to experience and enjoy classical music in their neighborhoods.

“The first Around the Town concerts at City R-Centers were a huge success,” said Mayor Warren. “We are pleased to partner with the RPO to provide additional performances by ensembles of Rochester’s world-class orchestra as part of our efforts to create safer, more vibrant neighborhoods, more jobs and better educational opportunities for our children.”

Remaining Around the Town concerts take place from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and are scheduled as follows:

• Tuesday, July 7, Maplewood Rose Garden Pavilion, 24 Driving Park Ave.;
• Tuesday July 14, Franklin High School campus, 950 Norton St.; and
• Tuesday, July 21, Susan B. Anthony Square, 39 King St.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket. Concerts may be cancelled in the event of inclement weather.
